Shindig over-delivers as an ideal, clean, zippy, fresh white with balanced fruit. There are flavors of citrus, green apple, stone fruit, lemon zest, a little slate, ginger, and a touch of sweetness mingles with refreshing minerality on the finish. With a high acidity level and tropical notes, this wine is reminiscent of a very crisp Sauvignon Blanc, or a mineral driven Gruner Veltliner. The Finger Lakes shines on this wine expressing the crisp, clean fruit and mineral notes indicative of the terroir.
90% Vidal Blanc, 10% Riesling Region Finger Lakes
Shindig White was made in a simple manner to preserve its crisp freshness. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at cold temperatures, the Vidal was fermented to dryness, and the Riesling stopped early to keep a bit of residual sugar for balance. The lots were then blended, and rested before bottling.
